Vera Scarves

I've been eBaying for some Vera scarves, napkins, and tablecloths. Love the patterns. I'd like to sew 'em up into totes and wallets. Maybe even clothes? I'd like to score some vintage bed linens and towels, too. There's a great idea in ReadyMade about making pillows from old towels. I'd like to try it.

The beginning

I've been knitting away at holiday gifts for 3 weeks now, and it's too soon to tell whether I'll stick with this or if I'll give up and just buy everyone presents. So far, so good. I've completed two projects: a soft green scarf and a autumn-colored tote bag. I'll post pics soon. Works in process: 2 scarves (one purple sparkly and one dusty pink mohair), 1 cranberry and fig colored bag (I'm going to felt it!). Works I'm thinking about: hats, mittens, wash cloths.

I've been reading a lot of knitting sites, and getting lots of great ideas for knitting and other crafty things. It's a little overwhelming - there are so many ladies out there who are doing really cool things. I'd really like to keep working on my own stuff and then maybe try to consign a few things sometime soon. We'll see.

By the way... I deleted all 3 years worth of my archives and tidied things up a bit. Most of my archived posts were nonsense that only made sense to me, anyway, so I don't think it will be missed.
