Wallpaper by Number

Here's a novel idea - paint by number wall paper! Via Daily Candy. I dunno about paying all that money, and still having to do the work of hanging it AND painting it, but it's still an original idea.

Cocktail time!

I've been looking to buy coctail umbrellas in bulk, so I did a search on Ebay, and found lots of 144 for $4 ($8 with shipping). That's a great deal, but all of the sellers were auctioning mixed lots consisting of assorted colors. Then, I ran across cocktailumbrellas.com . The prices aren't as low as Ebay, but they do have several lovely colors to choose from!

Let them eat cake!

My friend and I made this for her wedding:

Isn't it lovely? And it was so easy! She bought the cardboard cake tier, so all we had to do was assemble it and decorate it. We wrapped each pedestal in green tissue paper, and glued fake leaves on the outside borders of the cake tier, and voila! It was lovely. All we had to glue the leaves down was good ol' Elmers. At first, I was nervous that the leaves weren't going to stay put, so I arrived at the wedding reception with a tube of E6000 in my purse. Just in case. Luckily, the Elmer's worked, and the tier was a success.
